The Board is Going National!

Effective May 1, 2009, the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology is going National! Going to the national written examination that is. The Board will continue to administer computer-based testing upon studies of practitioners throughout the country. As a result of going to the national written examination, there is on-going item review, test analysis to ensure content is valid, reliable, current and conforms to industry standards.
This means that the Cosmetology, Esthetician, and Manicuring tests will all be available in Vietnamese, Spanish and English. Please come by our school to check out our programs, as this is a great opportunity to be able to take the test in these languages. You can see some sample tests on www.nictesting.org.

Senator Lou Correa, the CA Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, and Advance Beauty College invite you to attend a Healthy Nail Salon Workshop - How to Avoid Citations & What to Do When You Get One.
The program will include legislative updates and updated rules and regulations from the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. Participants will learn how to avoid a citation and about the citation appeals process.
